Merger Update and Town Hall Meeting Monday March 15th

The East Lake Soccer Association and Palm Harbor Nighthawks Soccer Club Boards of Directors would like to share some updated information about the ongoing merger efforts.

Nighthawks Advance to Semifinals in Region C
U13 Girls win 3-2 over Auburndale in Quarterfinals

The Nighthawks U13 Girls eliminated Auburndale in the quarterfinal round of the Region C Cup Saturday with a 3-2 win.
The girls will play March 20 at Lake Myrtle for the chance to play in the finals.

Region C Tournament Results - Round One

The Region C Tournament began Feb. 20-21 weekend with the following results:
GROUP WINNERS
U11 Boys won their group with a record of 3 wins and 0 losses
U12 Boys Black won their group with a record of 3 wins and 0 losses
U13 Girls won their group with a recored of 2 wins. 0 losses & 1 tie

THE FOLLOWING TEAMS ALSO HAD A GREAT WEEKEND
U11 Girls Green ended up with  1 win, 1 loss & 1 tie
U11 Girls Black ended up with 1 win & 2 losses  (all games were decided by 1 goal difference)
U12 Girls ended up with 1 win, 1 loss & 1 tie
U12 Boys Green ended up with 1 loss & 2 ties
U13 Boys Green ended up with 1 win & 2 losses

Joan Judd Scholarship for Graduating Seniors

The USA (United Soccer Association) offers a scholarship to graduating seniors.
From the instructions:

These grants are awarded to recognize outstanding young women and men of the community, who are soccer players and who have plans to continue their education beyond high school.

Nighthawks at the US National Team Game vs El Salvador

Despite rain, wind and cold, Nighthawks enjoyed the US Men’s National Team game at Raymond James Stadium on Wednesday February 24th.

The MNT found themselves down 1-0 but rallied to win 2-1 in added time.  The story from the St. Petersburg Times is here.

Nighthawks also met the team when they arrived at Tampa International Airport and some were on the TV News.  Check out the story here.

Important Announcement from East Lake Soccer and Palm Harbor Nighthawks

The Board of Directors of East Lake Soccer Association (ELSA) and Palm Harbor Nighthawks Soccer Club (PHNSC) are pleased to announce their agreement to cooperatively explore the benefits and work out the details for merging the two clubs in an effort to best serve the soccer needs of our member families in the North Pinellas, South Pasco, and West Hillsborough communities.

US Soccer is working to bring the World Cup to the US in 2018 or 2022.
Tampa is a candidate city.  We made the cut!  Tampa is one of the 18 cities selected to host.
