COACHING DEVELOPMENT
Coaches are assigned to teams based upon their background, experience and qualifications by the Director of Coaching with BOD approval for 1-year periods.
All Head Coaches should possess a “State Level” coaching certification or higher. Head Coaches are expected to be responsible for all training, coaching and development of their teams. “Professional Staff” coaches who are paid a stipend according to their level of experience and qualification supplement and enhance the training experience of the coaching staff.
“Professional Staff” coaches in addition to team coaching duties, provide additional support for teams with non-professional coaches as assigned by the Director of Coaching. Coaches are encouraged to continue their development as soccer educators by participating in further coaching development opportunities. These opportunities occur both within and outside the club.
The Director of Coaching conducts monthly sessions which all Head coaches are required to attend and participate. These monthly sessions are meant to provide an ongoing resource for coaching development.
The Palm Harbor Nighthawks Soccer Club measures the long term success of its programs on the retention rate and development of its players within the game of soccer. The highest measurement of success is the continuation of participation by its players in the game as adults, whether as players, coaches, referees or as supportive parents themselves.
