Season Outline

Our goal is to serve as many community youth as possible and we certainly want the children of our surrounding community to have the opportunity to play fall soccer.

Registration - Spring Soccer registration runs from late January through the first week of March. Registration fees are listed below.
U8 Co-ed -U12:          $80.00 for our Spring Season
Rascals and Kickers:   $60.00 for our Spring Season

Walk-up registration - We will have walk-up registration on selected dates to be set at a later.

Coaches Meeting - We are always looking for coaches with positive and nurturing personalities. We normally have coaching and assistant coaching slots available (see volunteer section below). At this meeting we structure our teams and establish practice nights for the older age groups.

Player Notification - Following this meeting, the coaches will notify the players (families) of the team assignment and practice night/time which they have selected.

Practices - Practices will be one night (Monday-Wednesday per week with one of two time slots (6-7:00 or 7:00-8:00) available.    The practice location is the same field on which you play your games.

  • Rascals and Kickers will use Carwise (No Set Practice - see new training feature below)
  • U8 and U10 will use Palm Field
  • U12 will use Sunderman
New Training Feature – During this past season we established a training night on Tuesday to support the entire age group for Rascals and Kickers. We will have parent coaches assigned to this session, but the technical training will be supplied by our senior Palm Harbor Nighthawks competitive players.

Games -  Games are scheduled to begin in March.  All games are played on Friday evening or Saturday mornings (just Sat morning for Rascals and Kickers). The detailed schedule will be structured and distributed after the coaches meeting.

Equipment Requirements - You will need to ensure your players have soccer cleats, shin guards, an appropriate size* ball and plenty of water (also shorts and soccer socks for the Rascals and Kickers).  We provide the shorts and socks for the older age groups.

(*Size 4 ball for ages 10 and 12 years old and a size 3 ball for players U8 years old and under)

Volunteers – The palm Harbor Nighthawks is a non-profit organization which is run entirely by community volunteers. Our programs are only as good as the support and participation we receive from our members. We have a number of volunteer opportunities available if you feel that you may be able to provide some level of support.

We need support in the following areas:

  • Coaches and assistant coaches
  • Team Managers
  • Uniform Coordinator
  • Age Group coordinator
  • Trophy Coordinator
  • Kick-off Party Coordinator and Representatives
